We first met the Maceks at a Parade of Homes show. We were impressed with the quality of their home and they were friendly and open and willing to answer lots of questions. They helped us make a decision without pressuring us to choose them.

We were first time home builders and they made the process relatively painless. The price they gave us prior to building was pretty accurate and they did not quote low prices to get us to sign and then go way over budget They helped us keep in our budget and found lots of ways to get us extras.

They do alot of hands-on and work long hours to make sure things meet their approval. They were on the job site almost daily--even on Christmas Eve.

They are honest and excehttps://macekcustombuilders.comome good friends. Cheryl does a lot of the leg work searching for needed items and she was always willing to listen if we had questions or concerns. She also does a great job documenting prices, quotes and just keeping everything in line.

If we have a problem with the house they are willing to listen and help us without giving us any hassle.

They do quality work and stand behind their product and I would definitely recommend them to anyone and would chose them, in a heartbeat, to build us another home. -- Jim and Judy Sugg

We hired Macek Custom Builders to restore our sunroom following a devastating fire. With all the choices to be made following the fire, the best one we made was choosing Macek Custom Builders for the renovation. Rick's technical knowledge, hands-on experience and vision lead us through what could have been a miserable process. Instead it was remarkably straightforward and we couldn't be happier with the results.

Rick took the lead in the new design process, helping us to explore new possibilities while remaining within budget. With a keen eye for detail, he also helped us in the selection and coordination of building materials. Technical knowledge with an aesthetic eye, like da Vinci.

Cost estimates for the project were detailed, transparent, and accurate; absolutely no surprises! The project came in within budget and on schedule.

Rick was available to answer questions immediately and our dealings with him were professional and considerate. The subcontractors he used were true craftsmen and their detailed workmanship is outstanding.

The only downside is that we now have Post-Project Blues with Rick's constant site visits and daily communication; we experienced separation anxiety once the project was completed. We'll have to remedy this by coming up with another project for Macek Custom Builders! -- John & Julia Royston, Monroe, MI

When we entered the Macek Custom Builders Parade of homes in 1999 (I think) we knew this was a company that we were very interested in contracting with. After interviewing many builders we decided to contract their services in building our first new construction project. Rick, Les and Cheryl surpassed the degree of professionalism and customer service that we expected in the largest project of our personal experiences. Their skills of organization, active listening, attention to detail and honesty made our building experience enjoyable and stress-free. They understood our goals and family needs which allowed us to design our dream home. We had very few modifications during the actual building project due to the thoroughness of the planning process. We moved into our home in 2001 and have no regrets on any of our decisions. We have had no construction issues or defects and if we decide to build in the future we would definitely use Macek Custom Builders. -- Bryan and Christine Ohm

Asked to describe our experience with Macek Custom Builders, several words come to mind. Honesty. Integrity. Vision. Skilled and knowledgable professionals. Rescurers.

In 1999, following two years of designing and planning, we began construction on our dream home, a timber frame on sixteen acres of wooded property. We spent time on every detail. We wanted it to be perfect. We broke ground in the summer of 1999. Then, in early 2000, our dream home became a nightmare. Construction came to a screeching halt when our builder, unable to meet his finanicial obligations ignored our phone calls and stopped paying the subcontractors and suppliers involved with our project. Our home, while encoIsed, was less than fifty percent complete. Seeking legal assistance, our attorneys advised us to secure at least three buliders' estimates of the state of completion and cost of finishing the home. Starting over, we contacted numerous buliders. Many, while sympathetic to our plight, would not even consider taking on our project. They were concerned with potential liability stemming from work done by our previous builder.

A friend suggested we contact Macek Custom Builders. Rick Macek and two other builders submitted contracts and specifications. What impressed us most about Rick Macek was his genuine enthusiasm to take on this, to say the least, challenging project. Rick was focused not just on getting the house done, but getting it done right. Even in early meetings with him we sensed that Rick had a vision for our home. His strong knowledge base in engineering and construction were impressive. Even more impressive was his sense of design, his vision of carrying a style through the entire structure. Wonderful details that we had not thought of, but that continue to impress all who visit our home. The final choice was simple and Rick and Les Macek were ready for the challenge.

Once our project began again, our respect and trust grew even stronger. Working closely with us and explaining things every step of the way, they began making all the previous builder's 'wrongs' right. Rick brought in quality subcontractors and routinely inspected their work. Rick and Les spent many late nights following up on work and completing much of the detail work themselves. Their standards are high. Rick advised us regarding a variety of options that would limit our expenses without sacrificing quality or style. They were open and welcomed our do-it-yourself efforts to keep costs down as well. If we had a concern, call backs were prompt and meetings at the site were scheduled anytime without hesitation. Rick researched timber frame structures, products and options for us to insure the best possible outcome for our project.

In October of 2001 we finally realized our dream and moved our family into our home. Macek Custom Builders played a critical role in helping us achieve our dream. Even two years later, Rick periodically checks-in to make sure all is well.

Honesty. Integrity. Vision. Skilled and knowledgable professionals.
